Description Of Work:

This position is a hands-on lead position which champions the implementation and support of development efforts of the ERP Applications (Oracle and Maximum). Position leads a technical team including project planning and estimating, status reporting, employee mentoring, performance management, development process and contribution to strategic direction. Position is responsible for the specification, technical design and implementation, and testing of applications components to support the users of the Oracle and Maximum ERP.

Duties & Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL:

·        Conducts self in an appropriate manner as a representative of RTD, working effectively in a diverse work environment.

·        Develops and maintains project plans for all ERP enhancements.

·        Manages direct reports and other matrix staff. This includes participating in interviewing, hiring and performance reviews. Schedules work of staff based on operation priorities, reviews work and mentors staff.

·         Analyzes and assigns Help Tickets related to customizations, configuration and reports; investigates issues, determines correct remedial action. Reports, tracks and communicates status, results and issues effectively using the Help Desk tool.

·        Works with other development staff in a matrix assignment environment.

·         Coordinates the interfaces and Crystal report development for the Maximus maintenance system

·         Conducts technical code reviews and provides technical assistance to less experienced team members

·         Participates in the development of long range plans and goals.

·         Enforces the compliancy with architectural processes for projects

·         Coaches teams of software design engineers for planning, tracking and completion of the work within the agreed plan, using agreed methods and processes

·         Reviews and approves business requirements and functional documentation produced by staff and others.

·         Documents requirements and functional designs for small to medium projects and reports.

·         Gains an understanding of the current Business Processes, as well as makes recommendations for modifications or new processes that may improve accuracy and efficiency.

·         Meets with end users to analyzes business processes, understand requirements, and recommend technical solutions.

·         Develops custom solutions or integrations for projects of moderate risk and complexity in an Oracle ERP environment. Increases customer satisfaction through continuous improvement and delivery of quality products and services. Projects will include, but are not limited, to customization and configuration changes in Oracle ERP Financial modules, Payroll, Oracle Time & Labor (OTL), Human Resources (HR), HR Self Service, ERP Recruitment, HR Advanced Benefits, Financials, Purchasing, Order Management, Inventory, Contracts, Grants, Self Service and Business Intelligence.

·         Produces and updates architecture, and technical documents for review and approval.

·         Reviews and approves other team members and outside consultants technical documentation.

·         Develops and maintains ERP design and coding standards.

·         Provides custom coding and testing of customized extensions to Oracle Applications when existing system functionality is deficient compared to business requirements

·         Develops reports and provides technical guidance for the development of new Oracle 5.0 application report output or modify existing reports using, Discover, Oracle Reports, Crystal reports, and XML Publisher.

·         Uses Oracle 5.0 standard tools to personalize and configure applications to meet requirements.

·         Reviews other team members' work and troubleshoots technical issues

·         Triages and resolves software defects

·         Creates unit testing plans and test scripts and thoroughly tests all software, interfaces and systems

·         Maintains and develops interfaces from/to various applications within and outside of Oracle 5.0.

·         Maintains version control system with baseline set of code and documentation of customized software, interfaces and reports.

·         Opens Oracle and Maximus trouble tickets when needed. Runs queries and gathers information needed for resolution.

·         Documents all operational and functional information necessary for deployment

·         Provides technical application support in a 24/7 environment for all Oracle 5.0 modules in a production environment and during enhancement and upgrade projects. Assign resources on a rotating basis for 24/7 support.

·         Stays current with evolving technologies.

·         Reports, tracks and communicates status and issues, based on departmental defined reporting templates.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field (CS & IT)


·         Hands-on experience with developing Oracle 5.0 Applications with some of the following 5.0 modules: Payroll, Oracle Time & Labor (OTL), Human Resources (HR), HR Self Service, ERP Recruitment, HR Advanced Benefits, Financials, Purchasing, Order Management, Grants

·         Administrative knowledge of version control systems like CSS, Subversion

·         Working knowledge of Oracle 5.0 interfaces

·         Advanced knowledge of development environment including Oracle Developer and E-Developer Suites, SQL*Plus, TOAD, Oracle Developer Suite.

·         Advanced working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL

·         Working knowledge of XML Publisher and/or Oracle reports

·         Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating kernel and familiarization with scripting language.

·         Knowledge of general object-oriented concepts (OOA/D/P, UML)

·         Advanced knowledge of Oracle 10G database concepts

·         Knowledge of software life-cycles

·         Knowledge of project planning using Microsoft Project or equivalent tools

·         Knowledge of business intelligence

·         General knowledge of Oracle workflows, Fast Formulas, Alerts or Oracle Approvals Manager.
